Klub Anak Catur::Swiss-System

A very #latepost from our last chess session on January’18.

We learned about Swiss-System Tournament with quick games (5-10 minutes each games)

Games: Swiss-System is using the player’s ranking to determine the their position on the board, then players are divided into 2 big groups: top half and bottom half.

The player on the no.1 of the top half will play against the no.1 of the bottom half, the player on the no.2 of the top half will play against the player on the no.2 of the bottom half, and so on, therefore not every player will play against every other players.

So number of games played for each round = numbers of players divided by 2.

Rounds: Numbers of rounds are usually pre-determined regardless how many players are, which is 2 rounds.

The first round will be based on the players universal ranks, while the second rounds will be based on result from round 1.
